Canterbury District Volunteer Centre Services
Canterbury District Volunteer Centre Services would like to broaden awareness of its services that should be useful in our parish. As a Volunteer Centre, they cover the whole of the Canterbury District. As well as referring volunteers to local organisations they also run:
- A volunteer car service taking people to medical and social appointments. They are currently seeking more volunteer drivers across the district due to increased demand. Click here for more information and contact details.
- A befriending service either via telephone or face to face or via other virtual communication methods. Click here for more information and contact details.
- A digital skills service which aims to help people who struggle with their phones, laptops etc. Click here for more information and contact details (same as above).
- “Skills for Volunteers” courses on behalf of KCC Adult Education aimed for those who are over 19 years of age who are Unwaged or low-waged and/or those looking to use the course to increase their prospects of employment, volunteering or to restart their learning.
