Temporary Road Closure - Grove Ferry Hill - 4th December & 5th March

Kent County Council (KCC) have informed us that Ii will be necessary to close part of Grove Ferry Hill, Upstreet from 4th December 2022 and 5th March 2023 for up to 1 night between the hours of 02:15 and 04:15.

Remembrance Sunday in Chislet

St Mary's Church will be holding the usual Act of Remembrance at 10.55am on Sunday 13 November to honour those from Chislet Parish who lost their lives in conflict. This will follow the Sunday morning service of Holy Communion which will begin at 10am.
All are welcome.

Temporary Road Closure: Sandpit Hill, 14 November

Kent Council Council (KCC) has informed us that it will be necessary to close part of Sandpit Hill, Chislet, between 08:00 hours and 18:00 hours from 14th November 2022 with estimated completion by 15th November 2022.

Temporary 40mph Speed Limit - A28 Island Road, Upstreet - 24th October 2022

Kent County Council (KCC) has informed us that it will be necessary to make an Order to temporarily impose a 40 MPH speed limit on part of A28 Island Road, Upstreet, from the existing speed limit sign (at the side of 145 Island Road) for a distance of approximately 400 metres in an Easterly direction (see map below). The restriction is planned from 24th October 2022 with estimated completion by 28th October 2022.

Mourning period service changes from Canterbury City Council

Canterbury City Council (CCC) has updated us on changes to services during the period of national mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which you may be interested in knowing about.

Church Lane PCSO speed check - result of first survey

Chislet's PCSO (Police Community Support Officer) conducted a speed check in Church Lane on Friday 12 August. During the survey 57 vehicles passed, four of which had a recordable excessive speed ranging from 35mph – 41mph.

Chislet Parish Council would like to thank PCSO Rains for his efforts and also for anticipating further surveys across the parish to produce a fuller picture of experience in different locations over time.
