Due to the resignation of a councillor, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for Chislet Parish Council.

Canterbury City Council has now informed us that it has not received a request from ten electors for an election to take place. This means that it is now for Chislet Parish Council to co-opt a replacement member (click here for the official notification).

Kent County Council (KCC) have informed us that they will be working to improve the road surface of Nethergong Hill, Upstreet from the junction with Abingdon Grove to Nethergong Penn. These road surface improvement works are programmed to start on the 15th July 20203 and should take 4 days to complete. These activities will be undertaken during a working window between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm.

Canterbury District Volunteer Centre Services has recently contact Chislet Parish Coucil about its services that should be useful in our parish. We have created a page on our website with more information: click here. 

They we are holding a “Celebration of Volunteering” on 6th June as part of Volunteers Week (1 – 7th June) and are inviting organisations to nominate up to 10 volunteers to attend. The Lord Mayor or Sheriff of Canterbury will be in attendance and free food will be available.
