Trauma Teddies Knitting Ukraine

Kent Fire Rescue Service has a convoy leaving for the Ukraine early next month, along with the equipment and supplies a request has been made for Trauma Teddies for the children / young people. They are asking if there are any groups within Kent who could knit the teddies in quick time or may even have them to hand and are willing to donate them.

Community Led Housing conference - 19 May

There will be a free Community Led Housing conference on the 19th May 2022, 9.30am - 2.30pm, hosted by Canterbury CC, Dover DC and Folkestone and Hythe DC.

The event will be at One Church, Noah's Ark Road, CT17 0DD. 

Urgent Road Closure - Grove Ferry Hill, Chislet - 5th April 2022

Kent County Council have informed us that it will be necessary to close Grove Ferry Hill, Chislet from 5th April 2022 for up to 1 day.

The road will be closed at 20 meters either side of Grove Ferry level crossing.

The alternative route for cars and light vehicles under 7.5T is via Grove Ferry Road, Grove Road, Stourmouth Road, Preston Road, The Street, Plucks Gutter, Gore Street, A253 Ramsgate Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Island Road, Grove Ferry Hill and vice versa.

Temporary Road Closure - Marley Lane, Chislet - 19th April 2022

Kent County Council have advised us (click here for communication) that it will be necessary to close part of Marley Lane, Chislet from 19th April 2022, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, with estimated completion by 21st April 2022.

Ships Meadow footpath safety measures at level crossing

Network Rail has contact us to say that as a part of their national programme to enhance safety for pedestrians at all level crossings across the railway network, they plan to upgrade Ships Meadow footpath level crossing.
